For three days, Friday January 27, Saturday January 28 & Sunday January 29 LeLa Gallery will host a unique exhibition of original artworks taken from the FACE2FACE exhibition currently on display -High Definition Prints- at the African Union on the occasion of the AU Summit.

Commissioned by the European Commission and BOZAR, Brussels, FACE2FACE features recent works by Tewodros Hagos, Tamrat Gezahagne, Mulugeta Tafesse, Mulugeta Gebrekidan, Michael Tsegaye, Ermias Kifleyesus & Behailu Bezabih.

Curated by Leo Lefort this exhibition has been conceived as an open dialogue between audiences, artists and institutions. Upon the invitation to 'invade' the pavilion conceived by visionary architect David Adjaye and independent curator Simon Njami

 participates supremely to the incremental platform, by opening a space for seven Ethiopian contemporary artists

The Training Center of the Addis Ababa Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Associations is planning to conduct a training program entitled “Customs Valuation & Goods Classification” January  23-27, 2012 for five half-days from 8:30A.M. – 12:30P.M in the morning at the 2nd floor of ITMAS Building, Room # 203, Ledita behind Balcha Hospital.

 

Objective of the programme: To acquaint participants with the practice of customs’ classification and valuation of goods in Ethiopian context

The training fee is Birr 1,348 per person for members (A company is considered as a member if its membership fee is settled at least for 2003 Ethiopian Fiscal Year) and Birr 1,618 for non-members. Our policy of fee payment before the commencement of the training will be strictly enforced to avoid interruption during the training week with reminders and invoices. Therefore, upon registering with the Training Center, we kindly request that you effect payment of the training fee to our Finance Department at Mexico Square Room#9.

It's a fun event, aiming to introduce Japanese development activities in Ethiopia, as well as Japanese culture such as calligraphy and kimono wearing, dances and songs.

I/OVentures, one of the leading incubators based in Silicon Valley, would like to announce a great challenge for software developers in Ethiopia.  They have prepared a ‘Coding Test’ which would be sent directly from them to our members who would like to participate. The test will require approximately two hours of your time and would need to be conducted before January 31, 2012.


The top 3 winners will receive mentoring from top entrepreneurs in Silicon Valley including Paul Bragiel (3 start-ups), Jonathan Baudanza (Rupture, Napster) and Samuel Stauffer (2 startups, currently at Twitter). The initial mentoring program will comprise of 4 online sessions over a two         month period as well as email access to mentors. Furthermore, the top 3 winners will have the potential to access the founders of companies such as Youtube, Paypal, MySpace, Bittorrent, Facebook etc.
